The Ninja Muscle has done well enough to get himself a slot at this year's upcoming HipHop Fest which will be held at Hong Lim Park,Chinatown on the 11th of Decmber.

Confirmed performances include Triple Noize, Ahli Fiqir, Teh Tarik Crew, Phlowtron, Too Phat, KLG Sqwad, Soulid and many more (taken from Beats-Society).


This year's HipHop Fest has an interesting concept.Just wait and see. Anyway,the Ninja Muscle is stumped as to what kinda stunt should he pull for HipHop Fest. Contributions and ideas for the Ninja's performance will be greatly welcomed.




p.s I suddenly have this totally 100% original idea of performing with strippers in skimpy clothes and i'm gonna like pour champagne all over them and the strippers will be like shaking their asses all over the stage and shit like that. A positive trend has emerged in the local scene. More rappers have been making use of home recording services provided by Yadin and Azrael to record their songs. A song that was recently recorded was Apiz iLm's Let Us Be. The premise of the song is more battle-oriented as we see Apiz taking on bubblegum rappers and wielding his lyrical sword to protect the credibility of Sghiphop in the eyes of the skeptical public . The song gets the dramatic touch of the trademark F Word sound.While the subject matter may be contrived and predictable,Apiz attacks the beat without any pretentiousness,only with the objective of educating and spreading knowledge (as the iLm in his name suggests which is knowledge in arabic. Deep whoa!) However,the track doesn't quite have the impact that it intended to and at certain times may seem over-entusiastic at proving a point. Overall,an effort that can be improved upon and Apiz Knowledge might prove to be our own Talib Kweli.

I changed my mind again. I'm not sending in "My Fault" for the SgHipHop compilation. In fact,i'm going to pretend that i never did any of the songs that i performed at Platform4. Arrogant huh? Worked on a beat at Yadin's. I'm sending in a song about how hip-hop is a culture of the 4 elements,that Afrika Bambaata is actually Captain Planet and rappers must make homogenous songs about how hip-hop is a culture not a concept. Its called "I wanna be like X'statix cos they're dope and original even though i'm not and i'm too stupid to develop my own style".

An Sghiphop compilation is tentatively scheduled to be released by the end of this year.This project has been delayed for a couple of years and some people are feeling so fucked up over that they are ready to pick up katanas and swords and corner rappers in the alleyways in order to co-erce them into improving their work ethic. The other day,I was surrounded by a bunch of lightsaber-wielding Sith Lords clad in all black at Geylang Lorong 13 when i was on a mission for lesbian porn. A Sith Lord who called himself Darth Kaninabeh held his pink lightsaber at my throat and threatened to decapitate me unless i promised to commence work on a song for tthe compilation. I buckled under the pressure and promised him and the other Sith Lords that i will be contributing a song to the compilation by Beats -Society. As soon as he loosened his grip on my collar and he withdrew his lightsaber,i proceeded to kick his ass with a fiery dragon kick before taking out my dual Barretta handguns and shooting him in the testicles.Total sweetness. I shouted out my war-cry "WAHHHH PIANNGGGGGG!!!!" whcih totally reduced the other Sith Lords to crying pussies as they tried to escape from my fury. I then took out my Snake of Wazza sword and killed the fattest Sith Lord just because he was fat.Totally wah lau weh dude. As the rest of them ran into shadows,scurrying like pussies,i kenw this will not be the last time i will be meeting them.

oh.about my song for the compilation.
It'll be a fusion of garage punk rock(MC5,The Stooges) and rap. If all goes well,it'll be accepted lah.If its not,then i may have to resort to terrorist tactics to get myself heard.

Our new PM,Lee Hsien Loong has,in a not-so- recent interview with Time magazine,expressed his desire to allow for more space for the expression of self and Time magazine included an accompanying picture of a group of Singaporean punks clad in all their steel & leather/PVC glory.
This move towards a more "liberal" society has resulted in a vibrant explosion of youth sub-cultures like the skinhead movement,the "mods" revival,the punks and the most blatantly commercial,hip-hop. These youth sub-cultures have claimed the streets as the origin of their ideologies,lifestyle and fashion.A local rap group,X-statix can be quoted as saying in one of their songs that Hip-hop is a culture not a "concept".

With no disrespect to X-statix and their craft,i think the whole notion of any of these juvenile trends(skinhead,hip-hop etc.) being a culture is absolutely absurd and laughable. If you're gonna subscribe to a "culture",you might as well subscribe to the one you were born into and just fucking shut the hell up.At least it'll please your parents and you could get an allowance increase.
We could just wear the baju-kurung and tumbuk belacan if you wanna talk about culture. Whatever happened to being "yourself", listening to songs you want to listen to,watching movies that you actually enjoy and wearing clothes that won't exactly turn your balls into reservoirs of sweat? The"mods" revival is one of the most nonsensical sub-cultures with its "unconditional and unquestioning embrace of anything British and anything that has the logo of the Union Jack". These "mods" listen to any band that's British no matter how crap some of these bands are (read:Rialto),list boring-as-dog-shit films as essential vieweing e.g Quadrophenia and are required to grow hair that (at least!) touches the ear. "Mods" and "modettes"(female versions of these shitheads) walk around town in their trendy glasses and address each other as "lads,blokes and genital warts(okay,the last one's a lie). Skinheads and punks on the other hand present themselves as the anti-thesis of these mods with their counter-culture fashion. They perceive "mods" and "hip-hoppers"(for lack of a better word) as being trendy pussies. I totally agree with this. However,agreeing with them does not constitues approval for them as these skinheads are blatantly contradictory and plain dumb-asses ESPECIALLY when they spout their "working-class" and "oppressed" rhetoric. Apparently being "youths of the working class" means that these skinheads actually have the money to buy 3 pairs of Doc. Martens each costing close to $200. Well done,the oppressed youth of the proletariat. Stupid fucks.These different sub-cultures requires these teenagers to spend their parent's hard earned money on brands like Merc,Lonsdale,Phat Farm and Avirex. Teenagers becomes a consumed consumer dictated by a label that was supposedly to free them of the restrictions of conventional society. Ironic huh? If you're gonna be a blind sheep and follow everything that others tell you,you might as well visit your local mosque and seek tutelage form the pak imams there. at least it'll bring you one step closer to the "syurga".

Several attempts have been made by historians to record and trace the history of the Ninja Muscle Clan but many have failed. Supporters of the local Singapore hip-hop scene has recently been baffled,puzzled,blown away,dissed,praised and appraised by a rapper who goes by the moniker Ninja Muscle. I am here to reveal that Ninja Muscle is me,Zainal Abidin and my aim is to to salvage local hip-hop through the alienation and segregation of certain segments but not as much as i want to take a shit in the elegant toilets of Great World City (they fuckin rock,i tell ya). Recently,Ninja Muscle Zainal Abidin won a local rap battle competition called Platform4. This victory did not come as a surprise to him as members of the Ninja Muscle Clan have been naturally blessed with verbal dexterity,superior intelligence,extremely well-defined six-pack abdomens and an ability to connect with the under-privileged working class masses everywhere.These abilities were granted to them by their deity,Ahmad Farid. This led conservative Islamic traditionalists to brand the Ninja Muscle Clan as blasphemous,"takde adat","memalukan Melayu" and an immoral sect that practises cannibalism and free sex which is of course untrue except for maybe the cannibalism part (ummmm,people form Chile are soo hot and spicy..geddit?).


This blog is also set up with the intention of informing the public of the major going-ons in the musical development of Ninja Muscle Zainal Abidin in the local hip-hop scene or others.
